Lara Zakaria is a PharmD MS CNS with a diverse educational background. She holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Colorado, a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Rutgers University, and a Master of Science in Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree at George Washington University.
Lara’s current practice focuses on concierge lifestyle medicine, specializing in chronic disease prevention and management. She is also a medical education consultant with expertise in medication de-escalation, personalized nutrition, laboratory assessment, nutraceutical management, and drug-nutrient interactions. Additionally, she serves as an adjunct professor of nutritional biochemistry at the University of Bridgeport and George Washington University.
Lara enjoys music, hiking, traveling, and learning about different cultures and languages in her free time. She is also an avid snowboarder and enjoys reading literature, science fiction, history, and historical fiction.
Lara has made significant contributions to SAMS. She has served as a member of the Society Board of Directors for two terms and as president of the Tri-State Chapter for four years. She has also been involved in the SAMS Advocacy and Research committees and has volunteered on SAMS medical missions in Jordan and Lebanon.
