Our Commitment to Medical Education
SAMS recognises the urgent need to promote and support medical education in Syria, aiming to boost the local healthcare system and its sustainability. SAMS educational institute works to provide support and facilities to healthcare professionals affected by the conflict. It also works to bridge the gap created by the retirement or exodus of senior healthcare practitioners.
SAMS offers online educational programs to healthcare professionals in Syria and beyond through its extensive network within the USA and beyond.
For this educational venture, SAMS has a dedicated committee comprising 21 members. The experienced and medical professional committee members work diligently to design educational programs that support students, peers, and professionals in Syria and other countries where the support is needed.

Scholarship Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a SAMS scholarship, applicants must:
- Must be a Syrian national who completed medical school either in Syria or abroad, and must be applying to the residency Match program in the same year.
- Must be proficient in the English language.
- USMLE Step 1 must be completed, and Step 2 CK should have a minimum score of 220.
- Must have a valid ECFMG before applying for the scholarship.
- Applicants must show a clear need for financial assistance.
Acceptance Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on:
- Transcripts of academic performance and a strong USMLE score.
- A strong letter of recommendation.
- A strong and concise statement of purpose and motivation.
- A strong command of the English language.
- Quality of CV and overall profile.
- A record of community services and volunteering for medical relief.
