Members of the SAMS community dedicate their time and skills to provide dignified medical care to Syrians and support their peers on the ground in Syria and in neighboring countries.
Education
SAMS’s education programs seek to provide comprehensive opportunities for growth and development to Syrian medical students and graduates who no longer have access to formal education. SAMS’s education programs include online courses, workshops, scholarship, and more. It has benefited more than 1,500 physicians and students in the U.S. and beyond by participating in SAMS’s critical care course in Turkey, attending SAMS’s workshops in Lebanon, taking part in SAMS’s online education courses. Additionally, SAMS supports three nursing schools in Syria and provides guidance and assistance to Syrian medical students seeking training in the United States.
Medical Missions
SAMS organizes and facilitates medical missions to allow doctors, members, students and volunteers to participate in medical and surgical missions. Medical professionals travel to the region to support ongoing medical relief programs and provide healthcare to Syrians inside Syria as well as in refugee camps in Jordan, Turkey, Lebanon and Greece.
