Dr. Molham Aldeiri

From Daraa, Syria, to leading cardiology departments in the United States, Dr. Molham Aldeiri embodies dedication, excellence, and a deep commitment to giving back.

Dr. Aldeiri earned his medical degree from Damascus University in 2007, laying the foundation for a remarkable medical journey. He completed his residency at Indiana University, followed by advanced fellowships that shaped his expertise in some of the most critical areas of cardiology. His training includes Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at Houston Methodist, and Interventional Cardiology at the University of Cincinnati.

Today, Dr. Aldeiri serves as an Interventional and Structural Cardiologist at HCA Houston Healthcare – Clear Lake, where he also holds the leadership role of Chairman of the Department of Cardiology. In this position, he combines clinical excellence with strategic leadership, advancing high-quality cardiovascular care.

Beyond his professional achievements, family remains central to Dr. Aldeiri’s life. He is married to Dr. Sausan Abouharb, an oncologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center and a dedicated SAMS volunteer. Together, they are proud parents to two daughters, Mariam and Amal, who inspire them both.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Aldeiri enjoys cooking, barbecue, traveling, and spending meaningful time with his family—simple joys that balance the intensity of his profession.

Dr. Aldeiri has been an active member of SAMS since 2017, contributing nearly a decade of service. As a volunteer interventional cardiologist, he performs cardiac catheterization procedures during missions, supports the development of clinical protocols, helps organize medical missions, participates in fundraising efforts, and works tirelessly to raise awareness and engage others in SAMS’ humanitarian mission.

When asked what SAMS means to him, Dr. Aldeiri shares:

“SAMS represents dedication, giving back, responsibility, a strong sense of ownership, teamwork, and above all, love for our country—Syria.”

Reflecting on what inspired him to become a SAMS member, he adds:

“Making a real difference in people’s lives. SAMS gave me the best platform to serve, contribute, and create meaningful impact.”

Through his medical expertise, leadership, and unwavering commitment to service, Dr. Molham Aldeiri continues to make a lasting impact—both in the lives of his patients and in the communities served by SAMS.
