SAMS is hosting its 18th Annual International Conference, “Challenges of Delivering Medical Relief in a Protracted Conflict: Effects on the Vulnerable Population and Medical Neutrality” in Istanbul, Turkey on June 28- 30, 2018. The conference will bring together physicians, humanitarians, thought leaders and health care practitioners from inside Syria, who will share their experiences on the front lines of providing medical care in crisis setting. The gala dinner will take place on Friday, June 29.
The conference will take place at the InterContinental Istanbul Hotel. Book your discounted rooms here. Please note that when you book your hotel rooms, it will automatically open your group rates once you put in the dates.
Following the conference, there is a social networking event- a cruise to Italy, Greece, and Montenegro from July 1- 8, 2018- organized by SAMS VP, Dr. Basel Termanini for SAMS members attending the International Conference this summer. SAMS Headquarters is NOT planning this event or using donation money for the cruise. To learn more about the trip and how to sign up, please click here.
During the conference, SAMS will offer a unique social program to allow family members of conference attendees the opportunity for meaningful dialogue and interaction with Syrian refugee families and children living in Istanbul. In addition, a trained psychosocial team from Aman Organization will instruct volunteers on how to give back while delivering much-needed psychosocial support. Your participation in these activities symbolizes solidarity and support for Syrian refugees. We hope that you and your families will join us this summer in making a difference. Tickets ($20/ person) can be purchased in the form below.
For students who are interested in attending the conference, please email SAMS Vice President Basel Termanini, [email protected], with your interest, your school information, and your CV. Due to the overwhelming interest, only select students will be able to attend.
